At Innovation Health we try to give back to our community as often as we can. From offering healthy tips and advice to volunteering in local schools through programs like Read Across America, the Hometown Hero awards are one more way to show our appreciation for the local community. Think you know a hometown hero? Read on to learn how to nominate a well deserving person from your town.

Signs someone you know is a hometown hero

Is your friend always posting about her recent volunteer work? Does your husband spend his days teaching kids at a local school? Maybe you raise money for a local nonprofit or a cause that’s important to you. Being a hometown hero can mean any number of things, but at its heart it’s about giving back to and improving your community. There’s no mold for a hometown hero but you know one when you see one! If you know a local hero making a difference in our community be sure to nominate them here by June 9, 2017 for a chance to win several prizes and the title of Hometown Hero.

Nominating process

Nominating a community member for a Hometown Hero award is a quick and easy way to show your appreciation for all the work they do. If you and your hero live in Falls Church, Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun, Fairfax, Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Stafford or the Shenandoah Valley simply fill out the quick nomination form here by June 9, 2017. All we need from you is to tell us in 500 words or less what makes your nominee a hometown hero! To show our appreciation for all the work they do we’re excited to offer great awards for our three winners this year, each will receive:

  • A $1,000 check from Innovation Health
  • Invitation to a recognition ceremony at Redskins Park, hosted by Innovation Health and the Redskins
  • Tour of Redskins facility
  • An official Redskins Football as a trophy
  • Photo opportunity in-front of a Redskins-Innovations video screen
  • Dinner at Redskins Park

The team at Innovation Health and I are excited to introduce the Hometown Hero awards and honor members of our local community. Giving back to our neighbors is engrained into the fabric of Innovation Health, whether it’s by offering the affordable plans our local businesses need or through programs like the Hometown Hero awards we know the only way to meet your needs is to be involved with you in the community. We can’t do it without you though, so be sure to nominate your hometown hero here by June 9, 2017!
